“On The Road With Big Blue” – June First Friday Edition

Downtown Mount Vernon will be busy with activities on Friday (6/4) for the season’s First Friday kick-off.  


WNZR will be in downtown Mount Vernon for June’s First Friday! 

Look for Big Blue on South Main Street, near Happy Bean.

First Friday events are from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Mount Vernon. Main Street Mount Vernon will kick off the year with June’s First Friday.  The theme is "Welcome Back Downtown".  


Activities include: 


  • Local talent on the Main Stage, now located at South Main Plaza, as well as the Happy Street Bru-Werks Stage in the COTC Parking lot.  


  • A+ Auto Brokers is sponsoring a Car Cruise-In on the Public Square. Main Street is asking for a $10 donation from participating cars to continue to keep First Fridays as a FREE community event.  Each donation will receive a free dash plaque commemorating the Cruise-In, and proceeds will benefit the initiatives of Main Street Mount Vernon to continue to better our downtown.    


  • Concepts in Community Living partners with Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities and MVNU Cougar Athletics to present the BAM! Activity Zone with activities for all ages and abilities. Ohio Youth Basketball presents Touch-A-Truck in association with Mount Vernon Police and Fire Departments. 


  • The Knox Foodies Food Truck Trail presented by knoxpages.com will highlight local flavors and community favorites. 


  • Fifty vendors are set to line Main Street from Vine to Ohio and for the first time, they can sell their goods! WNZR is honored to join Media Partners - BAS Broadcasting and Knoxpages.com. 


  • Main Street thanks Riverside Recovery Services for their support of First Fridays. For more information about their services go to riversiderecovery.rehab.
