Festival of Lights will be an exciting part of Winter in Downtown with Experience Mount Vernon and WNZR

The popular event is back for the 2022 Winter in Downtown season!  This residential house lighting competition is sponsored by ProCore Health Brokers and challenges residents within the city limits of Mount Vernon to see who has the best lighting display for their homes.

Registration for the event is available both on the Experience Mount Vernon Facebook page and ExperienceMV.org and will close Monday, December 12.

You must be a Mount Vernon resident within city limits to register. The first 25 applications will be accepted. 10 finalists will be approved. Once approved, participating houses will be photographed and logged. A map of the locations will be made available prior to the event.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 17 from 6-9pm when those who have been approved must have their displays on for viewing.
At 6pm on the 17th, Experience Mount Vernon will release the photos on their Facebook page of the participating house and voting will be open so you can help decide the Festival of Lights winner. Mayor Matt Starr will announce the winners on Monday, December 19.
Voting will close Sunday, December 18 at 9pm.

Festival of Lights is a special way for you and your family to celebrate the holidays.
You are invited to drive, bike or even walk the Festival of Lights trail provided on Experience Mount Vernon’s Facebook Event Page the week of the event. Once you've seen all the houses, it's your turn to help us choose the best of the best!  With three different categories this year, every house has a chance to win!

Categories are:
- Best Gingerbread

- Best White Lights

- Best Colorful Lights

Festival of Lights will be on Saturday, December 17 from 6pm – 9pm.
