This month’s theme, “Summer Camp,” promises a fun-filled evening of activities for

families and community members of all ages. 


WNZR will be in downtown Mount Vernon for July’s First Friday!

Look for Big Blue on South Main Street, near the dog fountain.

First Friday events are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Mount Vernon. 


Head to the Public Square to enjoy summer camp-themed activities hosted by a variety of community organizations:


  •  Live Music: Enjoy live music by Side Effects on the Burrata Woodfired Main Stage at West High and Public Square


  • Food & Refreshments: Local food trucks will be located around Public Square at the Knox Foodies Food Truck Trail, sponsored by Ariel Corporation. They will offer everything from funnel cakes to grilled cheese! 


  • Activity Zone: Have even “s’more” fun with the MVNU Athletics Activity Zone, sponsored by Knox Community Hospital, on Public Square - don’t miss the dunk tank!


  • Community Corner: The Mount Vernon Music & Arts Festival will host the Community Corner on East Gambier Street, sponsored by New Directions. Be sure to check out live music and a rousing game of Family Feud!


  • Touch-a-Truck: Pak United will be on Public Square this month with Touch-a-Truck, sponsored by CES Credit Union


  • Photo Booth: Be sure to take advantage of the summer camp-themed photo booth complete with a canoe and kayak generously provide by Paddle for Heroes. Both will be available all evening on Public Square.


  • Over 100 exhibitors and vendors will be located on South Main Street!


  • Reminder: There will be no classic car cruise-in at July First Friday.


  • Traffic Details - Starting at 3:30 p.m., parking will close on Main Street from Chestnut Street to Ohio Avenue, including one block east and west, and around Public Square. All parked vehicles should be removed from these streets by 3:30 p.m. Streets will close to all driving traffic at 4:00 p.m. 


  • Parking can be found at Public Lots on South Gay and Mulberry Streets as well as any open street parking.


  • Experience Mount Vernon has partnered with Knox Public Health to host a FREE Bike Valet station in the Blue Ash Parking Lot on the corner of East Ohio Avenue and South Main Street. As part of the Active Transportation Plan, both Experience Mount Vernon and Knox Public Health encourage those who can bike to take advantage of this FREE service! Special thanks to Martha Edelblute for the use of the lot.
